Mental Health Coaching

Coaching coaches, helping churches start coaching practices, and spreading mental health advocacy throughout Montezuma County and beyond.

From Monte Pescador, newly certified Mental Health Coach:

I am extremely excited to introduce Mental Health Coaching to Montezuma County and hope this notion spreads throughout the church community and beyond. As a mental health coach, you become an advocate, a lay counselor, and support for those who come to church seeking help.

Those with serious mental illness such as chronic depression and/or anxiety, bipolar disorder and more will more often go to a pastor for help than a mental healthcare professional, yet most pastors will say they are ill equipped to help them. That is where a mental health coaching ministry comes in.

Every Summer, Rohi Therapy will hold open space for volunteers to do on-the-job training as mental health coaches in the office with my supervision and support. These volunteers can then take what they have learned back to their own churches to support their church community and all who walk in seeking help.

I am willing to speak to your church about starting a mental health coaching ministry as well as do on-site training as time allows. Let us bring light to the darkness of mental health issues together in fellowship.

“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silent hurt more.”

– C. S. Lewis
