Coming Soon: Life Coaching
Life, Health, CareerStart Shaping Your New Life Today
Goal Setting
The basis of life coaching is helping you to set goals and plan for those goals, including when to reevaluate and when to celebrate.
Relationship Coaching
Sometimes the goal is to keep a relationship together or build upon a relationship. Whether it be partners in a company or a couple in marriage, a life coach can guide you through to building a better relationship.
Stress Management
Normally when someone says “Stress Management,” that person means “Counseling.” A counselor, however, looks at your past and present mindset. A life coach looks at your future life and what it takes to make that future life less stressful.
Career Advice
“What is your personality type?” School career counselors have asked this question for many years of students. The same could be said today for adults looking for a more fulfilling career. More than that, what career would fill in what you are missing in life? A life coach can help guide you through your own thought process and challenges to seek and find your passion.
Helping You Find Success With Personalized Coaching
Feel Like It’s Time to Make a Change in Your Life, But Can’t Seem to Find a Way?
There are times when you may need a counselor, coping with past experiences, and times when you may need a life coach, someone to come alongside you in transforming your future. This is not a weakness. It is a strength.
What can a Life Coach do for you?
"I know what I am driven to do but cannot find the motivation to do it..."
Like with any coaching, a Life Coach can both help you find the motivation to move forward and be your accountability partner, moving through this time of change with you and giving you a challenge when needed to keep going.
"My friends/colleagues try to help, but I just get confused..."
Friends and family can mean well, but to clear your own head, you need to be able to hear yourself. A Life Coach is your sounding board. Not unlike counseling, a Life Coach primarily listens and tries to reinterpret what you say in meaningful ways that might give you a better idea of what that confusion in your head is about. Life Coaches do not guide. You are the expert. Instead, you are coached through what you already know.
"Am I even qualified to do this?"
Fear is the biggest motivator towards giving up on dreams, holding many people back until it is “too late” or “can’t be done.” This is as true for starting a new hobby or business as it is for dieting and recovering from addiction. Just as true is that you could need an accountability partner to reach for the goals you want to achieve.
"I don't want to spend money on this only to fail..."
That is the other part of accountability: Investing in your future is an investment, it has a cost. This is also another part of fear. How much do you want your dream? How much is that worth to you?
How Do I know If Coaching is Right For Me?
A few questions you should ask yourself if you are considering life coaching as a means of moving forward.
What is the difference between counseling and coaching?
Again, counseling is about the past, coaching about the future. More than that, however, counseling is dealing with current problems in a mentally unhealthy life. Coaching also deals with current problems, but in a mentally healthy life. This can be one of the things you will want to talk to a potential coach about before deciding to go with a coach, if counseling is more appropriate or coaching is.
Am I ready and willing to move forward?
The very first question you should ask yourself is if you are mentally ready to move forward with your plan. Often, plans do not go beyond the “I think I could do this” stage, forgotten the next day or week or month. Are you ready to instead say, “I am going to do this!”?
Do I need an accountability partner?
Actually this is a bit of a trick question. Yes, you do for pretty much everything that challenges you, but you do not necessarily need to hire someone, for example, to be alongside you as you tackle your fears of letting your daughter go on her first date. How much accountability do you need? If the answer is “a lot,” then you want a stranger, not someone who might let you use an excuse when things get a little rough..
Do I need a Christian accountability partner?
Granted, this is a better question because it speaks both to your goal and faith and asks if a Christian life coach might be a bad fit for either. A Christian life coach will still only coach you in the best way possible for you. If you have strong faith, it will be biblically based. If your goal is battling a bad or sinful life pattern, it will not be judgemental but nurturing. Why? Because that is what Christians are called to do and be. If you simply feel uncomfortable with a Christian life coach, that is fine as well. Any life coach may be a bad fit. That just means you cannot work with that life coach, not that you cannot work with any life coach.
How much do I need a life coach? (How much will it cost?)
You do not necessarily need to have a full-time life coach, costing per week or month rather than per session, but that is completely your decision. You can either subscribe to the service at a base subscription fee or just pay per scheduled session like counseling. The bright point of a subscription is your life coach is available 7 days a week, even if not directly available by phone any minute of any day. You can call him or her at any point and he or she can call you back if necessary as well. The bright point of paying by session is if you feel it is not working, you have only paid for the sessions you do with your life coach.
What would I even do with a life coach?
In some ways a life coach is not that different from a counselor, a sounding board for issues along the way of achieving your goals, but instead is focused on the future rather than the past. Like a sports coach, a life coach holds you accountable to having a plan, sticking to each step of the plan, and updating your plan. Unlike a sports coach, the life coach only helps you clarify your plan, he or she does not design a plan for you to achieve your goal. A life coach is there to make sure you are not leaving gaps in your plan, aiming too broad, or have a target that takes too long to get to. A life coach is your positive value reality check, helping you design your life with purpose and for purpose.
Monte’s Approach
As a counselor, I love the existential/humanistic approach to counseling of hearing stories or narratives that have meaning in people’s lives.
In the case of life coaching, this translates into the story of today and tomorrow. I am not here to be a cheerleader, though that is a small portion of what a life coach does, celebrating the victories as well as the lessons learned. I am here to translate or reinterpret the way you describe your plans and the story that will unfold from them. Where are the blanks in your story? Where does the story take turns you did not fully understand or anticipate? No matter what, though, your story will be one of challenges accepted and small victories over a long road. Where it leads is up to you.
As for specialization, my life experience and counseling experience tends towards the following specializations:
- Mental Health
- Rehabilitation and Recovery Support and Accountability
- Grief and Change Support and Accountability
- Organizational
- Entrepreneurship
- Marketing
- Leadership
- Christian Living Coach
Where will your dreams take you?

How It Works
Schedule a Free 1:1
Schedule a 1:1 to get to know the life coach (and vice versa) to see if you are a good match. It is 100% free and lasts just under 1 hour. You can be emailed the paperwork ahead of time so that it does not cut into your free session. After that, you can schedule or subscribe a service if you feel like you are ready.
Choose a Coaching Plan
From scheduled 1 hour sessions to a subscription for open access to your life coach, the decision is yours. Do you only want to try it out and maybe subscribe later? That is an option. Talk to your life coach if you have further questions about your choices.
Reach Your Goals
Now is the time to shine. What is the goal you want to attain? What do you feel like or believe is keeping you from achieving it? Let us get through it together.
1 Hour Session Online
Do you like being coached from home? Can you use Zoom? That can be accommodated. On your schedule for one hour to check in with your life coach. This is a very flexible contract giving you full control over when you start, how you continue, and when you quit without notice.
$50
More Details
What you get out of a 1 hour session is a guided tour of what you say your plans are for the next step or steps towards your goals. Questions are asked by the life coach to make sure you understand what it is you are saying and observations are made about what you might be feeling about those plans that you are not allowing yourself to recognize. What you do not get is the ability to call a life coach when you want to celebrate an achievement or get coached through an obstacle to your original plan. Still, you need to start somewhere.

About These Fees
Rohi Therapy, as a part of Dirt ‘N’ Nails Farms Inc. (501c3) takes any funding beyond expenses and places them into a counseling-specific fund towards paying the expenses of services for other nonprofits and/or those who cannot afford our services. As a nonprofit, the IRS does not allow us to use sliding scale fees, but this is one way we can still help those who need the help but cannot afford it.
As a nonprofit, we also take donations towards helping others, so if you choose to pay more than the listed fee, that portion above goes directly into the funds for helping others without consideration of going towards anything else.
