Katherine “Kat” Edgar

Counselor/Neurofeedback Technician

Katherine has her Masters of the Arts in Counseling and has obtained her LPC. She has an eclectic background which benefits her ability to help and guide individuals through difficult times.

She has a partial Associates in interpreting for the deaf as well as a partial Associates in Early Childhood Education and Development.

She worked for Children’s World Learning Center for an accumulated time of seven years. She has held the position of teacher’s assistant as well as Lead Teacher and was the head van driver for three years.

When her youngest child started Kindergarten she returned to school to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. During her studies and for a period after graduation she worked as a Deputy Probation Officer (DPO) for the 18thJudicial District Probation Department.

What she liked most about being a DPO was the listening to the client’s story and helping them discover a direction in life and how to achieve positive goals. So she decided to go back to school once again and obtained her Masters in the Art of Counseling.

After graduation Katherine was given the opportunity to work for a clinic that specialized in Neurofeedback and had the honor of learning the skills needed to provide neurofeedback treatments to clients as needed. She worked for Tate Reconstruction Services Neurofeedback for a total of seven years under the guidance and coaching of Dr. Yvonne Tate.

During that time Katherine obtained her Licensed Practicing Counselor (LPC) and started Kat’s Corner Counseling & Neurofeedback LLC.

Katherine does struggle with challenging health issues but does not allow her health issues to interfere with her being available for he clients when they need her.
